Session Abstract
Is balance billing a vestibular procedure? Is unbundling the ticket for greater reimbursement? These questions and more will be addressed in this 90-minute session, which will include a review of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes pertinent to audiologists and a discussion on the Medicare requirements pertinent to the provision of diagnostic audiologic services. Tools will be provided to itemize your professional services in order to maximize reimbursement, especially for hearing aid dispensing.
About the Presenter
Debbie Abel, Au.D. received her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Audiology from Kent State University and her Au.D. from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Abel spent 13 years in private practice in Alliance, OH and is currently the Director of Reimbursement and Practice Management for the Academy. She works on a limited basis with Arch Health Partners in Poway, CA and serves as a consultant on audiology coding and reimbursement issues. She was awarded the first “Active Advocate of the Year” by the State Leaders’ Network of the Academy and is an Athena Award recipient.
