Recharge Your Audiology Battery
Laurel Gregory, MA
February 24, 2012       1:00pm - 2:30pm

Session Abstract
Remember the feeling of endless possibilities and the potential to make a real difference in the world? We enter the audiology profession filled with excitement and a burning desire to make a change; our batteries are fully charged and we are ready to take off. For some, this enthusiasm ebbs and diminishes over the years. The chief underlying reasons are increased stress, loss of direction and waning passion. The audiology profession, although deemed one of the least stressful careers, involves working with others which undoubtedly lead to elements of stress. Learning how to constructively deal with stress clears the contacts for recharging the audiology battery. Recharging involves closely examining and clarifying what drives us, what brings meaning to our lives and careers. During this workshop, a tool called The Passion Test, will be utilized to clarify what is needed to refresh the battery. Gaining this clarity empowers us to make decisions based on what is most important to us and acts to charge our battery daily. Participants will leave this course with ideas and tools to help reduce stress and to re-ignite areas that invoke excitement and passion, leading to a fully charged life and career overflowing with fun and enjoyment.
