Minnesota Academy of Audiology (MAA) is the hearing and balance authority dedicated to excellence in and advancing the profession of audiology in Minnesota. Stated simply, this means that we want to be the focal point of audiology in Minnesota. Physical sciences define focal point as the place where rays of light converge. In art and design, the focal point is a place or object that draws your attention or interest. Combining these scientific and aesthetic perspectives, then, MAA is where Minnesota audiologists commit to making hearing and balance wellness a priority in our own backyard.

Being an incoming Academy President is a little bit like driving in heavy traffic. You initially spend a lot of your time alternating between looking back at the immediate past and forward at the future you would like to help create. As we enter a new year, we should take a moment to recognize the accomplishments that MAA volunteers made in 2011 - and they were tremendous.
