Eva Lopez was born and raised in Chicago. Her family is from Guatemala.  She attended Penn State University for her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. At Penn State she worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Bilingual Phonology Lab. She then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her Doctorate of Audiology where she worked as a graduate research assistant in the Language Acquisition and Bilingualism Lab. Before joining AB, Eva was a clinical audiologist in Chicago working with primarily Spanish speaking patients in private practice.

As a native Spanish speaker, Eva noticed a lack of Spanish language resources in audiology and became passionate that she wanted to be able to provide all of her patients with the same resources to help them make informed decisions.  For this reason, Eva joined AB to help create Spanish language resources as well as educate and support families in their native language and in a culturally competent manner.
